Chain of custody

Bag handling & handover

The operational checklist TromsøBag will use when insured live service begins. It creates a traceable handover without routinely opening customer luggage.

Pickup and storage

  1. 1Confirm booking number, customer name, locations, bag count and time window.
  2. 2Customer provides the one-time pickup code; request identification only when reasonably necessary.
  3. 3Assign each bag a unique TromsøBag identity and QR label.
  4. 4Photograph the exterior from useful angles and record visible pre-existing damage without opening the bag.
  5. 5Record bag type, colour, count and approximate weight; initial limit is 23 kg per bag.
  6. 6Customer confirms the prohibited-items declaration.
  7. 7Apply a numbered tamper-evident seal where used, then mark the bag Picked up with time and staff identity.
  8. 8Scan at storage entry, assign the shelf/location and record the custody event.

Delivery

  1. 1Scan the QR identity and check the seal and exterior before departure.
  2. 2Mark Out for delivery and send the customer the delivery update.
  3. 3Verify the separate one-time delivery code; request identification only if there is reasonable doubt.
  4. 4Let the customer check the bag and seal before accepting handover.
  5. 5Record proof of delivery without photographing identity documents.
  6. 6Capture digital confirmation, delivery time and responsible staff identity.
  7. 7Do not leave bags unattended during the initial launch service.

Launch gate

Paid luggage handling will not be activated until operating insurance, a secure storage location, staff training, tags/seals and incident reporting are ready.
