What we collect
When you register for launch access, we collect the contact and trip details you submit: name, email, phone number, luggage count, requested locations, date, time and optional notes. If you unlock a Tromsø travel resource, we collect the email address you submit, your selected language, the page or guide you joined from and a small set of activity-interest labels so we can keep future travel information relevant. For basic website measurement, public pages may record a privacy-preserving technical page view containing the requested public path, device/browser category, operating-system category, approximate country, external referrer origin and limited campaign labels such as UTM source or campaign. This baseline measurement does not create or read an analytics cookie, persistent browser identifier or analytics session identifier, and the visitor analytics record does not store an IP address. If you choose to allow optional visitor analytics, we additionally record a random browser identifier, page visits, session activity and selected interaction events. Visitor analytics does not use your name, email or phone number.
Travel-resource consent
Travel-resource sign-up is separate from optional visitor analytics. The email form requires an explicit choice before it is submitted. We use that email to provide access to the requested resource and, where you agreed, for occasional practical Tromsø travel updates. You can ask us to stop using your email for those updates at any time through the contact page.
Optional analytics choice
Persistent visitor and engagement analytics is optional. TromsøBag does not create the random analytics visitor identifier or session identifier until you choose to allow it. You can decline and continue using the website. You can reopen Privacy choices from the website footer and change your choice later. If allowed, interaction events may include which Tromsø guide, planner or partner-booking button was opened, but not the email address entered into a travel-resource form. Basic privacy-preserving public-page measurement can still be recorded without these persistent identifiers so TromsøBag can understand aggregate traffic and technical compatibility.
Why we use it
We use submitted customer information to manage your registration, provide your discount code, plan the TromsøBag service, prevent abuse and contact you about your request. Travel-resource information is used to provide the requested guide, understand broad travel interests and, when you agreed, make occasional travel updates more relevant. Privacy-preserving page measurement helps us understand broad traffic, public-page usage and technical compatibility. Optional engagement analytics helps us understand anonymous sessions and movement through the planning funnel. We do not sell personal information.
Storage and access
Customer, travel-resource and analytics records are stored with the database services used by TromsøBag. Access to customer records, travel-resource emails and detailed analytics is restricted to authorized TromsøBag staff. Public website visitors cannot query the travel-resource email list or analytics records directly. We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the relevant purpose or legal obligations. Security systems may process network information transiently to protect the service from abuse; this is separate from the visitor analytics record described above.
Affiliate and external booking links
Some Tromsø activity pages may contain clearly disclosed affiliate links. When you follow one of these links, you leave TromsøBag and the booking partner or tour provider processes information under its own privacy terms. TromsøBag may record a consented anonymous outbound-click event on our own site, but we do not send your travel-resource email address through the affiliate link.
Your choices and requests
You may request access, correction or deletion of information connected to you and may withdraw a consent you have given. You can also ask us to stop travel-update emails. Use the contact page for privacy or marketing-preference requests. Changing or declining optional engagement analytics does not prevent normal use of the public website and does not create a persistent analytics visitor or session identifier.
Processors and external services
TromsøBag uses service providers including Vercel for website hosting and Supabase for database services. These providers process data to supply the technical services used by TromsøBag. External booking partners are separate services when you choose to leave TromsøBag through a partner link.
